We deliver
Full five-gallon glass arrives at your door and goes right onto your cooler.
True Artesian is natural spring water from Indian River — harvested the moment it surfaces, sealed in glass, and carried to your door. This is who we are, the problem we set out to fix, and how a glass bottle fixes it.
True Artesian started with the family that runs the riverside RV park in Indian River — on the same ground where the spring rises. For years they watched the water surface on its own, clean and cold, and decided the world already had enough plastic in it.
An artesian spring is water under natural pressure: it reaches the surface by itself, with no well drilled and no pump forcing it up. We collect only what it offers, bottle it in glass right here, and bring it to homes and businesses across Northern Michigan — then take the empties back and start again.
Harvested, never pumped — exactly as the spring gives it.

Convenience has a hidden cost. The plastic bottle doesn't just carry the water — it gets into it, and then it outlives all of us in a landfill. Here is what the research actually shows.
0
plastic particles in a single liter of bottled water
A 2024 study counted an average of ~240,000 plastic fragments per liter — roughly 90% of them nanoplastics, small enough to cross into the bloodstream.

plastic bottles bought worldwide every minute
About 480 billion plastic drink bottles are sold each year — close to a million every single minute, and still climbing.

0%
of all the plastic ever made has been recycled
The rest is landfilled, burned, or left in the environment, where it fragments into microplastics rather than disappearing.

0%
of artery-plaque samples were found to contain microplastics
A 2024 study found micro- and nanoplastics in most plaque samples and linked them to higher rates of heart attack, stroke, and death — an association, not yet proof of cause.

Plastic also leaches antimony into the water it holds — a little at room temperature, far more as it warms in a hot car or on a shelf. None of that belongs in a glass of water.

Always in glass.
Never in plastic.
Every problem with bottled water traces back to the same place — the plastic. So we took it out of the equation, start to finish.
No plastic, ever
Our water never touches plastic — not the bottle, not a filter housing. There is no PET to shed nanoplastics into it, and nothing to leach antimony as it warms.
Inert, reusable glass
Glass is non-porous and chemically stable, so it holds the water without changing how it tastes — and it can be recycled and refilled again and again with no loss of quality.
A spring, not a pump
Artesian water rises under its own pressure. We collect what the ground offers, at the source, so the water keeps the clean mineral character it left the earth with.
Reuse is the single most effective way to cut plastic waste — refillable systems alone could eliminate roughly a third of plastic pollution by 2040. Our whole model is built on it.

Where we deliver
We run our glass route across the top of the mitt — from Indian River out to Cheboygan, Petoskey, and the lakes in between. If you’re nearby and not on the list, ask. We’re adding stops as we grow.
88888888The science on micro- and nanoplastics is still emerging; we describe findings as studies report them. True Artesian’s point is simpler — keep plastic out of the water entirely.
